Chinese Doorbell Battery Technology Achieves Breakthrough; Multi-Power-Supply Patent Granted to Resolve Endurance Pain Points

On January 17, 2026, according to a report by JRJ (Financial 界), the latest public information from the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) shows that Dongguan Haineng Electronics Co., Ltd. has successfully applied for a patent entitled A Low-Power Smart Doorbell with Multi-Power-Supply Mode and Smart Home System, with publication number CN121332871A. Focusing on the core pain point of battery power supply for smart doorbells, the patent adopts a multi-mode hybrid power supply design to significantly extend battery life, providing a new solution for the technological upgrading of household security doorbell batteries.

The patent application was filed in November 2025. Its core highlight lies in breaking through the limitation of single-battery power supply in traditional smart doorbells, and building a multi-power-supply system integrating ternary lithium batteries and external power sources. According to the patent abstract, the power supply system for smart doorbells includes a doorbell main body and a built-in circuit module. The doorbell is equipped with a TYPE-C interface, while the circuit module integrates a ternary lithium battery module, a DC adapter power input module, an AC power input module, and a corresponding power management module, enabling flexible power switching in multiple scenarios.

The advantages of its core working principle are prominent: the battery charging and power management module detects the connection of external power in real time. When either a DC adapter or an AC external power source is detected, the system preferentially uses the external power to supply the doorbell main body and circuit modules, while simultaneously charging the built-in ternary lithium battery module. When no external power is connected, it automatically switches to independent ternary lithium battery power supply. This not only ensures the normal operation of the doorbell but also avoids frequent battery charging or replacement, fundamentally solving the industry pain point of short battery life for smart doorbells.

Industry analysts pointed out that smart doorbells have become mainstream equipment for household security, yet short battery life and poor adaptability to installation environments have long been core issues hindering industrial development and user experience. The patented technology of Haineng Electronics not only optimizes the doorbell battery endurance but also improves the adaptability of doorbells in different installation scenarios. It can achieve stable power supply both in outdoor scenarios without external power and indoor scenarios with fixed power, further expanding the application scope of smart doorbells.

Meanwhile, as industry standards for doorbells continue to improve, requirements for the safety and compliance of doorbell batteries are also rising. The new version of Safety of Household and Similar Electrical Appliances – Part 1: General Requirements (GB 4706.1-2024), which will be officially implemented on August 1, 2026, has added clear requirements for battery overheating protection and charging system safety. The intelligent regulation design of the power management module in Haineng Electronics’ patent precisely meets the safety requirements of the new national standard, laying a compliance foundation for subsequent product commercialization.

At present, the patent has not yet been transformed into mass-produced products. However, the industry expects that with further implementation and optimization of the technology, its multi-power-supply design will be gradually applied to various smart doorbell products. This will drive the upgrading of domestic doorbell batteries toward low power consumption, long endurance, and high adaptability, while also helping domestic security electronics enterprises enhance their core competitiveness and occupy a more favorable position in the household security equipment market.
